January 26th – The Violet Hold, Dalaran
The Violet Hold are the dungeons of Dalaran. Once based in Silverpine Forest, when Dalaran was moved, the prisons were moved too.
The mighty Kirin Tor, rulers of Dalaran, presumed themselves to be safe from attack once someone was confined in a cell, but that was proven untrue.
After the Third War, Lord Garithos, leader of the “New Alliance” (the remainder of the forces left behind after the destruction of Lordaeron), discovered the blood elves, led by Kael’thas, were consorting with Lady Vashj and forging an alliance with the naga.
Garithos threw Kael’thas into the underground caverns of the Violet Hold and locked him away. He was broken out by Vashj, and during their escape they put the spirits of four archmagi, Antonidas, Conjurus Rex, Fordred Aran andLandazar, to rest.
They turned a furbolg and an ogre (results of strange experiments by the Kirin Tor wizards) against the guards, and rescued the other trapped blood elves.
Kael’thas then brutally killed Jailor Kassan, who guarded the exit, forgetting their many years of friendship.
Fast forward to the present.
Malygos and his dragonflight have started to push against the new Dalaran, exploiting the rather large crack in the roof and streaming in to the Hold.
Adventurers of the Horde and Alliance frequently enter the Hold in an effort to relieve the guards and fight off both the Azure Dragonflight and the many crazed inhabitants, including an arakkoa, void lord, ethereal and core hound.
The final encounter is Cyanigosa, Malygos’ first lieutenant and leader of his forces attacking Dalaran.
